Job Description: Are you looking for an opportunity to utilize your specialized skills reviewing and ensuring the procedural verification of confidential RCMP occurrence files? The District of Mission is seeking an experienced, self-motivated individual to work in the records management area of the Mission RCMP Detachment until October 2021 (approximately).
Duties: You will be responsible for performing a variety of duties related to reviewing police occurrence files to ensure proper investigative procedures have been followed ensuring any deficiencies are addressed and that reporting requirements to outside agencies are following RCMP policy and applicable legislation, such as the UCR scoring, providing advice on investigative procedures, legal requirements and case law pertaining to the files, along with other related duties.
Educational Requirements: As the ideal candidate you will have recognized training in crime investigation along with a minimum of five years operational experience in a police/criminal investigative environment including experience scoring files. You will be a proficient user of policing software programs including PRIME, CPIC and JUSTIN. Candidates must currently possess RCMP enhanced reliability clearance.
Skill Requirements: We are looking for an individual who has a thorough knowledge of police investigative procedures and evidentiary requirements, the Criminal Code of Canada, applicable Federal and Provincial statutes, policing policies and procedures, judicial proceedings and court administration. You understand statistical reporting requirements in maintaining police files and records. You must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships, function as a team member, work calmly under pressure and manage multiple activities to completion under tight deadlines. You must be able to maintain attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy and to be courteous and tactful in a variety of demanding and difficult situations.
Salary: The 2020 hourly rate of pay for this position is $36.45 plus 4.4% in lieu of benefits. The hours of work will be 8:00 am to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday, on a 9-day fortnight schedule (one extra day off every two weeks).
Additional Information: Some early morning shifts may be required when relieving for the Court Liaison Officer.
