The Township of Langley is currently recruiting for a regular full-time Support Clerk, to join our team of professionals in the Community Development Division; Business Support Department.

Reporting to the Manager, Community Development Business Support, you will be responsible in this unionized position for receiving by-law infraction complaints; obtaining and recording pertinent data such as names, addresses, nature of violation and license plate numbers and assembling files and distributing reports to by-law enforcement staff for action. The successful candidate will maintain and update a variety of computer or manual files, have good typing skills, a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Your education will include completion of the 12th school grade, preferably including or supplemented by commercial and accounting courses. Considerable related experience preferably in a municipal department or an equivalent combination of training and experience is required. Sound knowledge of business English, spelling, arithmetic, and proper vocabulary is critical. Also, knowledge of recordkeeping, billing, indexing, and related clerical functions, as well as the ability to deal effectively with the public, other employees, and subordinates in processing a variety of enquiries, complaints and related matters is required.

The CUPE rate of pay for this position is $23.61 – $27.75 per hour (2015 rates), plus benefits. The hours of work are Monday to Friday, 7 hours, between 8:30am – 4:30pm.
