As the successful candidate you will ensure a safe and enjoyable leisure experience for patrons while performing lifeguarding and instructional activities. Your training and keen eye for detail will allow you to actively respond to emergency situations by performing rescue functions and providing assistance to patrons in need. Your strong communication and relationship building skills will be essential as you provide instruction in a variety of aquatic and related programs. In addition, you will conduct regular inspections of rescue and emergency equipment, monitor pool chemistry as required and perform assigned janitorial and maintenance tasks as required. As our ideal candidate you will have: ??? Red Cross Water Safety Instructor ??? National Lifeguard (Pool Option) ??? CPR Level C with AED Auxiliary Employees are employed on an intermittent or temporary basis for the purpose of relief, replacement or increased activities. Ability to work flexible hours including days, evenings, holidays and weekends is required. This position is unionized, CUPE Local 774, and the hourly rate of pay is from $17.95 to $21.11 per hour (2015 rate).
