Water Utility Person
Engineering & Regional Utilities
CUPE Regular Full Time
The City of Abbotsford is currently offering a full-time Water Utility Person position within our Engineering and Regional Utilities Department.
This position is responsible for the day to day operation of the City’s water systems including the repair, maintenance and construction of waterworks infrastructure. Considerable knowledge of waterworks distribution systems, including mechanical and control systems required to operate and maintain water pumping and storage facilities is a must.
As the ideal candidate you must have:
• Completion of Grade 12.
• Completion of post-secondary courses in waterworks at a recognized college, trades school, Environmental Operators or similar organization.
• A minimum of 1 year experience in waterworks.
• Valid B.C. Driver's Licence (Class 3 with Air)
• B.C. Environmental Operator’s Certification (EOCP), Water Distribution Level 1
This position is unionized, CUPE Local 774, and the hourly rate of pay is from $23.31 to $27.42 (2015 rate) plus a comprehensive, competitive benefits package.
