The Township of Langley is currently recruiting for a regular full-time Manager, Community Development Business Support to join our team of professionals in the Community Development Division, Business Support Department.
Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible in this exempt position for planning and managing Business Support activities including recruitment, training, performance assessment, discipline, maintenance of safe work practices. You will also prepare and maintain detailed operating and capital budgets; coordinate business information system technology for the Division including the calls for service management and financial interface; as well as developing, recommending and implementing policies and procedures for the Department. You will establish and maintain effective communication and coordination with other Divisions in the Municipality; coordinating clerical and administrative support services with all departments within the Division; compiling statistical information, conducting the necessary analysis and studies; and providing options and recommendations to the General Manager. In addition you will be responsible for coordinating and maintaining a divisional marketing and communications plan including use of the Township page, flyers, and the internet; acting in a confidential secretarial capacity to the General Manager.
Your education will include graduation from University in Arts, Commerce, Public Administration, Business Administration, or related discipline plus 5-7 years related experience in a supervisory/administrative position or an equivalent combination of training and experience. You will have considerable knowledge of Municipal regulations, policies, procedures and by-laws; of computer based municipal financial budgeting and costing programs and systems as well as thorough knowledge of customer service and commitment to high standards in customer satisfaction. Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, good computer skills including word processing and spreadsheets in addition to excellent project management skills are necessary.
