The City of Abbotsford is currently offering a full-time position for a Water Utility Person within our Engineering and Regional Utilities Department.
This position is responsible for the day to day operation of the City’s water systems including the repair, maintenance and construction of waterworks infrastructure. Considerable knowledge of waterworks distribution, including familiarity with the mechanical and control systems that are required to operate and maintain water pumping and storage facilities is a must.
As the ideal candidate you must have:
• Completion of Grade 12;
• Completion of post-secondary courses in waterworks at a recognized college, trades school, Environmental Operators or similar organization;
• A minimum of one year’s experience in waterworks;
• Valid B.C. Driver's Licence (Class 3 with Air); and
• B.C. Environmental Operator’s Certification (EOCP), Water Distribution Level I.
This position is unionized, CUPE Local 774, and the hourly rate of pay is from $24.49 to $28.82 plus a comprehensive competitive benefits package.
