The Project Management Office Division of the Engineering and Regional Utilities Department implements capital plans and projects, provides leadership to solid waste and environmental services, geomatics, and processes soil permits and highway use permits that support the growth of the City including the Regional Utilities (water and sewer treatment) in accordance to the City???s updated Official Community Plan. This Division will help implement infrastructure investments in the City and achieve Council???s vision for the City ??????to be the Hub of the Fraser Valley.??? This Division will also help shape the future of the City and is viewed as a builder of community that will attract and retain people to live, work and play in the City of Abbotsford. We are seeking a key member of our Engineering Senior Leadership Team for the position of Director, Project Management Office. Reporting to the General Manager, Engineering & Regional Utilities, the Director provides leadership and direction in developing procurement strategies and implementation of the City???s water, sanitary, stormwater, transportation, fire halls, parks, recreation and cultural infrastructure. As the Director, you are an exceptional leader, strategic thinker and problem solver with sound judgement. You have the ability to motivate, mentor, coach and influence a diverse team in order to create a high performance work environment. You have experience as a hands-on senior leader and are comfortable managing many different priorities concurrently, with the ability to move projects forward in a multi-stakeholder environment. Your strong communication and interpersonal skills allow you to build authentic, credible and trusted relationships at all levels throughout the organization. As the Director, you will have: ??? a Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Project or Construction Management, Senior Technologist or other related discipline will be considered; ??? a Professional Designation and/or Accreditation in your field of expertise; and ??? a minimum of 10 years of progressive related experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role.
