| Job Description: |
Reporting to the Facility Services Manager, this is a supervisory position that provides direction and is responsible for skilled technical work involving building maintenance, renovations, custodial service, ice-making, pool maintenance and physical plants operations in all civic facilities during the late afternoon and evenings. |

| Duties: |
Under general direction, an employee of this class is responsible for designing, implementing, coordinating and administering building maintenance tasks, operating of the physical plants and supervising maintenance staff. A Facility Maintenance Coordinator is expected to exercise initiative, judgement and independence within departmental policies, procedures and guidelines but unusual or difficult matters are discussed with a Manager. Work performance is evaluated on the basis of the quality of work and level of service provided, adherence to work standards and schedules, and the assistance rendered. |

| Educational Requirements: |
??? Degree or a two year diploma in the field of Building Technology or HVAC Technology recognized by the Province of BC
??? 5th Class Power Engineer???s Certificate
??? Five years??? experience in general building maintenance, physical plant operations and custodial work to include the operation of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, pools systems and ice making refrigeration systems with one year of supervisory experience
??? Refrigerator Operator Certification (not required if possess 4th Class Power Engineer???s Certificate or higher)
??? Building Service Worker Certificate (approved minimum 16 hour course)
??? Pool Operator Course ??? Level 1 & 2
??? Proficiency in Microsoft Suite ??? MS Word and Excel
??? Valid Class 5 Driver???s License for the Province of British Columbia

| Skill Requirements: |
??? Scheduling, coordinating and directing all operations under minimal supervision and planning, assigning and supervising directly and indirectly the work of employees and contractors engaged in a variety of operations and projects
??? Considerable knowledge of preventative maintenance methods and procedures and the systematic recording and use of preventative maintenance data
??? Sound knowledge of routine record keeping, simple arithmetic, procedures and requirements related to attendance, payroll, purchasing and inventory control

| Salary: |
$2,789.83 bi-weekly (2018 rate) and includes a comprehensive benefit package upon successful completion of a four-month probationary period |
