The Township of Langley is currently recruiting for a regular full-time Safety Advisor to join our team of professionals in the Human Resources Division, Human Resources Department.

Reporting to the Manager, Health and Safety, you will be involved in this exempt position for the coordination, implementation and administration of the Township???s Health and Safety Programs. Areas of focus include conducting risk assessments, conducting ergonomic assessments, developing safe work procedures, leading incident investigations, determining and ensuring implementation of corrective actions, conducting safety inspections, designing/implementing safety initiatives, and enabling workplace safety compliance.

This position will appeal to a fast paced, detail-oriented, independent and well-organized individual who has a minimum of 5 ??? 7 years of progressive experience in the safety field, specifically holding a degree in Occupational Health and Safety, a CRSP designation, or an equivalent combination of related experience and specialized education. A demonstrated track record in working with a diverse group of employees concerning occupational health and safety; working knowledge of the Workers??? Compensation Act, WorkSafeBC OHS Regulations, workplace inspection methods, accident investigation techniques, and hazard risk assessment processes is necessary. The successful candidate will be a perceptive, high energy individual with the ability to establish sensitive and productive relationships with managers, union officials, employees, contractors and WorkSafeBC representatives. Computer literacy and exceptional interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are necessary.

Candidates must have a BC Class 5 (full-privilege) driver???s license or equivalent driver???s license for where you reside.
