Job Description: The Community and Recreation Services Manager is an advanced level position that requires considerable experience and expertise in recreation and facility management within a unionized environment. This position involves leading a talented team in the development and delivery of social and recreation programs within one of six Community and Recreation Services Town Centres. The role requires an individual who is innovative, inclusive, and collaborative with the ability to plan, organize, develop, and manage operational initiatives, while utilizing their expertise in the following functional areas: early years; children and youth healthy development; family; adult and seniors programming; and aquatics management. This position is responsible for managing the Town Centre budget, as well as maintaining an emphasis on health and safety initiatives in the community.
Duties: Manage a team of unionized staff working in a variety of positions within the Town Centre.

Prepare and manage the operating budget and capital budgets within the Town Centre.

Establish and maintain effective relationships with all stakeholders including staff, public, community groups, School District, and other government agencies.

Develop, implement, and sustain long-range plans.

Participate in the planning and design of recreation facilities.

Demonstrate proficiency in public relations techniques and conflict resolution.

Demonstrate the ability to communicate in a professional manner, both orally and in writing.

Ensure consistency and sound judgement in decision-making.
Educational Requirements: Hold a university Degree in a related discipline.

Have a minimum of five years??? of relevant experience including management in a unionized environment.
