||The Fraser Valley Regional District manages a wide range of recreational programming, services and facilities in Hope, BC. These include the Almer Carlson Outdoor Pool, the Recreation Centre which features the Dan Sharrers Aquatic Centre, fitness and cardio rooms, and an arena. The Recreation Centre in Hope has over 57,000 visits to public swimming and skating annually.
Our Recreation Centre has been serving the community of Hope and residents of Electoral Area A and B since 1997. Although our programs and services may have changed through the years, our commitment to our communities and user groups remains a top priority.
||We have an exciting opportunity for positive and energetic candidates to fill the Part-Time position of Customer Service Representative I to work at the reception counter for our Recreation Centre in Hope, BC. The Customer Service Representative I will provide a high level of customer service to users of the facility, perform cashiering and related POS duties, maintain complete and accurate records of recreation programs, public schedules, and correspondence, and provide clerical support.
||• Grade 12, plus experience working in an office environment and handling cash;
||• Excellent customer service skills;
• Strong written communication skills;
• Ability to understand and execute cash handling procedures and perform mathematical calculations;
• Ability to quickly acquire the ability to proficiently utilize the computer and POS application and related programs including Microsoft Word and Excel.
||The starting wage rate for this part-time Union position is $17.07 per hour plus 10.6% in lieu of benefits. Upon successful completion of the required probationary period the wage will increase to $18.97 per hour plus either 10.6% in lieu of benefits, or if eligible, participation in the benefit program. Shift differential and overtime are paid where applicable as per the Collective Agreement.
||The successful candidate must be available for shifts from 4 to 8 hours in duration, anytime between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m., and/or split shifts and temporary shifts, inclusive of evenings, weekends and some holidays.
