The Township of Langley is currently recruiting for a regular full-time Infrastructure Asset Technician to join our team of professionals in the Engineering Division; Engineering and Construction Services Department.

Reporting to the Infrastructure Assets Manager, you will be responsible in this unionized position for generating, maintaining, and updating all maintenance work requests and work orders in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). In this position you will be providing support in preventative maintenance scheduling and asset inventory entry into the CMMS and other Systems. This position performs a variety of tasks including but not limited to, field inspections and assessing condition of existing assets; collecting asset inventory data; developing and maintaining a database of record inspections and asset inventory; preparing reports; delivering presentations; assisting with the preparation of grant applications; and completing BC One call requests.

Your education should include completion of the first year of an undergraduate degree or diploma supplemented by technical courses related to the work plus considerable related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Sound knowledge of engineering terminology, materials, equipment, practices and techniques; the ability to review, analyze, assess and interpret plans, specifications, contracts and other materials related to the work will be essential in this position. Extensive computer familiarity is required with proficiency in asset management operations and systems in a municipal environment.

The rate of pay for this CUPE position is $31.62 - $37.23 per hour (5 steps, 2018 rates), plus benefits. The hours of work are Monday to Friday, 8:00am ??? 4:30pm.
