Our Communications and Marketing Division is currently offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced and self-motivated professional to join their dynamic team as the Communications and Marketing Coordinator. This is a temporary position until return of incumbent, approximately November 2019. Reporting to the Communications and Marketing Manager, you will lead and/or coordinate a wide variety of marketing and communications functions, as well as develop and implement various marketing campaigns for internal departments.
In this busy role you will liaise with city staff to develop and implement marketing plans for department projects and initiatives as well as create communications materials and services for internal and external customers. You will utilize your excellent interpersonal and customer service skills as you manage and respond to feedback and/or inquiries received from the public through our communications email and City Website. Your ability to foster and maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders is essential as you work closely with other departments to support their marketing and communications needs. Your organization and time management skills will be an asset as you manage numerous requests on a daily basis as well as support a variety of communications and marketing events.
Your proven skills, knowledge and abilities as a communications and marketing professional, along with your knowledge of marketing practices and principals will make you an asset to the team. Excellent attention to detail, communication and writing skills will be essential in this position. Your ability to work independently, multi-task and take initiative will guide your success in this position.
To be considered for this position you will have:
• completion of Grade 12, supplemented by a post-secondary diploma in Marketing or Communications;
• a minimum of two years’ experience in direct operations of a communications and marketing function, preferably in local government; and
• a solid understanding of Adobe Create Suite Design software, website administration and HTML.
