The Township of Langley is currently recruiting for a temporary full-time (from approx. November 26, 2018 to approx. October 25, 2019) Technical Support Specialist to join our team of professionals in the Corporate Administration Division, Information Technology Department.

Reporting to the Helpdesk Coordinator you will be responsible in this unionized position for tracking service requests; deployment of hardware including desktop, laptop, and tablet computers; responding to technical incidents within the organization; investigating, documenting and assessing software and hardware issues, resolving those of a routine nature and referring more complex problems to senior staff; assisting in the evaluation, installation and configuration of software and hardware; and maintaining and updating the asset management system. You have considerable knowledge of the Windows 10 operating system; Microsoft Active Directory; mobile phone management; multi-function printers and audio-visual equipment.

Your education will include completion of grade 12 supplemented by courses in computer sciences or other related disciplines plus sound related experience; OR an equivalent combination of training and experience. You will have the ability to work effectively in a team environment, have strong customer-service focus, analytical and problem-solving abilities and possess superior communication skills.

The rate of pay for this CUPE position is $29.16 - $34.29 per hour (5 steps, 2018 rates); $29.74 - $34.98 (5 steps, 2019 rates) plus 13% in lieu of benefits. The hours of work are Monday to Friday, 8:30am ??? 4:30pm.
