The Township of Langley is currently recruiting for a regular full-time Clerk IV to join our team of professionals in the Engineering Division; Business Support Department.

Reporting to the Manager, Engineering Business Support, you will be responsible in this unionized position for administrative work at the supervisory level at our Operations Centre. We are looking for a leader who will embrace our Expect Excellence culture with strong communication skills and the ability to build and foster relationships across the organization. You will assign and review the work of our clerical team, assist with the Engineering Division’s operating and capital budgets, assist with the implementation of new work programs and processes, and provide administrative support to our management team.

Your education will include completion of Grade 12 including or supplemented by courses in elementary accounting and commercial courses, plus considerable experience as a Clerk III, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years supervisory experience, capital and operating budget, and software maintenance experience. You will have thorough knowledge of current office practices and procedures, strong oral and written communication skills, along with sound knowledge of budget preparation and of related accounting procedures. Experience with database administration is preferred. You will also have the ability to establish priorities and schedule workloads to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment, and possess the ability to deal tactfully with municipal personnel and the public.

The CUPE rate of pay for this position is $29.74 - $34.98 per hour (5 steps; 2019 rates), plus benefits. The hours of work are Monday to Friday; 7 hours per day and may vary between 8:00am - 4:30pm.
