The Township of Langley is currently recruiting for a regular full-time Senior Land Development Technologist to join our team of professionals in the Community Development Division; Development Engineering Department.

Reporting to the Manager, Development Engineering, you will be responsible in this unionized position for assisting with the operations of the Development Engineering Department, administers assigned complex development projects and oversees the review of subdivision and development applications, including engineering construction plans, for subdivision, development permit, building permit, and rezoning proposals. This position will supervise the work of a group of subordinates engaged in reviewing applications and ensuring compliance with relevant bylaws. The successful candidate will recommend approvals as appropriate and recommend changes to department bylaws, policies, and procedures. You will review and check working drawings for all infrastructure and legal requirements; prepare servicing and development agreements and prepare and maintain a variety of reports, records and related documents.

Your education will include graduation from an Institute of Technology with a Civil Engineering Technologist Diploma and considerable related experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Thorough knowledge of bylaws, regulations, standards, rules, acts and requirements related to subdivision and rezoning controls, proposals and proceedings and considerable knowledge of the functions and requirements of various internal and external contacts and authorities in relation to land use control and the supply of essential services.

??? Certification or eligibility for certification as an Applied Science Technologist within the Province of British Columbia.
??? BC Class 5 (full-privilege) driver???s license or equivalent driver???s license for where you reside. The CUPE rate of pay for this position is $41.29 - $48.78 per hour (5 steps, 2019 rates), plus benefits. The hours of work are Monday to Friday 8:30am ??? 4:30pm.
