||One student will be responsible for collecting and collating data on visitation to the community to help determine visitor numbers, economic impact and visitor sustainability. You will develop a questionnaire, be responsible for data collection through in-person and online methods, and provide data analysis and a project report. The second student will assist in the development of cultural based assets with the local Indigenous communities to determine key locations, businesses and to begin sourcing relevant local stories of historical and cultural significance.
||The District of Mission is looking for two friendly, energetic and welcoming students to connect with and provide tourism information and advice to local residents and visitors to Mission at the Visitor Information Centre (VIC). Reporting to the Manager of Tourism, you will use your exceptional customer service and online marketing skills as front line work will form the day-to-day basis of these positions.
||Students working in economic development, Indigenous studies, tourism, communications or marketing are encouraged to apply.
||You will have knowledge of the services in the Mission area and be knowledgeable about local, regional and provincial tourism products. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal, written and telephone) along with the ability to perform a variety of administrative and clerical functions with minimal supervision and at least one year of related customer-service oriented work experience.
||$20.43 per hour plus 12.4% in lieu of all benefits.
||You must be a part-time or full-time post-secondary student returning to school in the next academic year.
