Working in partnership with the largest municipal RCMP detachment in Canada, we provide services to the half a million residents of the city from our main office on 57th Avenue and from our five district offices. We work closely with the community on crime prevention initiatives, as well as provide support and advice to those who have been affected by crime.
Duties: Reporting to the Communications & New Media Manager, the Communications Coordinator is responsible for developing and writing content for the Surrey RCMP???s communications channels. You will ensure consistency of communications and adherence to City policies and procedures. The incumbent will exercise judgment and initiative within established guidelines under general direction.

As the Communications Coordinator you will write, edit, and photograph professional and creative content for the detachment???s website, intranet, social media channels, brochures, and e-newsletters.

The successful candidate will assist the Communications Team in developing and implementing public relations initiatives, contribute to the editorial calendar, and liaise with various units and sections to ensure communications and materials are up to date.
Educational Requirements: Completion of Grade 12 supplemented by a diploma in Communications or a related field from a recognized post-secondary institution plus a minimum of two years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidates must have professional writing experience for print and web and experience using Twitter and Facebook for an organization. Bilingualism (English/French) is required. Candidate should be available for occasional evening and weekend work.
Skill Requirements: Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain the relevant level of RCMP Security Clearance.
