In this Exempt Management position you will report to the Director of Engineering and oversee a team of experienced professionals. Duties: You are a strong, decisive leader with excellent communication skills and the ability to deal effectively with elected officials, the public, external agencies and all levels of staff. You have knowledge of civil engineering principles, administrative practices and techniques as applied to municipal engineering. You have a background in planning, design, and construction of water supply and distribution as well as wastewater collection and treatment. Experience in system modelling, contract administration and in managing consultants will be an asset. You will prepare and manage annual Engineering Department and Capital Plan budgets. You are able to decisively approve expenditure of funds for water and sewer projects as approved in the municipal capital works budgets in accordance with Council resolutions and policy directives. Educational Requirements: The ideal candidate should have a degree in Civil Engineering with emphasis on utilities, and the ability to obtain registration with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of BC and five years of progressive management experience within a related field or an equivalent combinaiton of experience and education.
