The City of Abbotsford has an exciting opportunity for an experienced administration and benefits professional to join our Human Resources team. If you are self-motivated, detailed oriented Human Resources professional who thrives in a fast paced and evolving environment this could be the role for you!
In this key role, you will be the first point of contact for new and prospective employees. Your service orientation and proven communication skills will assist in nurturing a friendly and welcoming environment at the City. You will also have the ability to jump from one task to another seamlessly while finding opportunities to lead process improvement projects. There is no typical day at the City however your main responsibilities will include providing administrative support to the recruitment team through posting vacancies, liaising with candidates, scheduling testing and assessments, creating interview packages and onboarding new hires. You will also be responsible for benefit administration taking great care to enroll new employees into our plan along with processing changes and cancellations in a timely manner. As the Human Resources Administrator you will also be responsible for processing leaves and retirements, communicating with Payroll along the way.
This role requires a highly efficient, with great attention to detail, self-starter who values a team environment and can manage a busy and interesting workload while providing excellent customer service. Our Human Resources team values teamwork, integrity, innovation and an energetic and positive work environment.
Our ideal candidate will have:
• Diploma in Human Resources or a related field;
• Minimum of two years of Human Resources experience with exposure to recruitment and benefits administration;
• Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills;
• Superior communication and interpersonal skills;
• CHRP or CEBS designation or working towards is an asset
