The City of Abbotsford’s Legislative Services department is seeking a self-motivated enthusiastic professional with a high degree of initiative and the ability to think on their feet in a fast paced customer service work environment to join their dynamic team
In this full-time role as a Corporate Information Clerk you will play an integral role as the first point of contact with the general public; and act as an ambassador on behalf of the City and the services provided by it. The successful applicant will provide front line customer service for the City and is required to consistently exercise courtesy, professionalism and diplomacy in dealing with the public in a positive and welcoming manner.
The Corporate Information Clerk liaises closely with all departments, preparing and distributing all incoming and outgoing mail, as well as processing corporate print requests, operating multifunctional, digital copiers, and other related office equipment. This role also provides assistance at City Hall’s Corporate Reception, operating the switchboard and greeting customers courteously and professionally, dispensing pamphlets, brochures, maps and other materials of an informative nature to the public; in addition to maintaining supplies, keeping records and performing routine clerical duties. As well, this role recommends improvements to service delivery procedures, methods and forms to improve the overall efficiency of mailroom/printshop service delivery.
• Grade 12 including administrative and computerized software (word processing and spreadsheet applications);
• One year of clerical, customer service or reception experience
• Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence and Driver’s Abstract.
This position is unionized, CUPE Local 774, and the hourly rate of pay is from $22.34 to $26.28.
