The Township of Langley is currently recruiting for a temporary full-time Instrument Person II (from approx. September 23, 2019 to approx. September 24, 2021) to join our team of professionals in the Engineering Division; Engineering and Construction Services Department.

Reporting to the Manager, Engineering Services, in this unionized position you will be responsible for performing survey work to collect data required for the planning, design and construction of all municipal engineering projects. You will perform technical drafting and Civil 3D assignments regarding field surveys and plan the daily and weekly activities of the survey crew as required.

Your education will include an Engineering Technician Certificate in Survey Technology, a Geomatics Engineering Technology Diploma, or a Certificate/ Diploma in a related discipline plus some related experience or an equivalent of training and experience. The successful candidate will have thorough knowledge of all aspects of municipal engineering survey work and exceptional skill in the use of simple and complex survey instruments and equipment. Computer proficiency is necessary and knowledge in Civil 3D will be considered an asset.

The CUPE rate of pay for this position is $32.25 - $37.97 per hour (5 steps; 2019 rates), plus 13% in lieu of benefits. The hours of work are Monday to Friday 8:00am ??? 4:30pm.
