The City of Abbotsford???s Parks, Recreation & Culture Department is seeking a self-motivated enthusiastic Parks Building and Structures Technician to join their dynamic team. Your positive attitude and proven leadership skills will make you an asset to the department.

The Abbotsford Parks, Recreation and Culture Department provide key services to the residents of our rapidly growing community. As the Parks Building and Structures Technician you will provide support to the Parks, Recreation, and Culture division in skilled and semi-skilled maintenance work in the use of mechanical and hand tools for routine maintenance and repair of the City???s Parks and Recreation facilities, buildings, structures, equipment, playgrounds, and parks.

In this role you will bring conservable knowledge of the methods, materials, tools and practices used in building and park maintenance and repair. You will direct and assist employees in performing a variety of building and parks maintenance tasks such as carpentry, plumbing, painting, roofing and concrete-finishing work, which may involve supervision of one or more assistants.

Qualifications Required:
??? Completion of Grade 12
??? Formal supervisory skills training
??? Four (4) post-secondary courses in Parks and Building Maintenance
??? Three (3) years??? work experience in the building and park maintenance field including one (1) year overseeing and coordinating the work of others.
??? Valid BC Driver's Licence
??? Canadian Playground Safety Inspection Certification.

Please note, the City will consider applications from lesser qualified candidates.

This position is unionized, CUPE Local 774, and the hourly rate of pay is from $27.04 to $31.82
