The Township of Langley is currently recruiting for a regular full-time Foreman II to join our team of professionals in the Engineering Division, Engineering and Construction Services Department.

Reporting to the Construction Superintendent, in this unionized position you will plan, assign, supervise, evaluate and may participate in the work of a crew engaged in capital infrastructure installation, restoration, construction, maintenance and repair work for water and sanitary sewer. In this role, you will provide direction to traffic control personnel, truck drivers, equipment operators and hired contractors assigned to projects. You will coordinate and inspect work performed by contractors and equipment operators and ensure conformance to municipal standards. The successful candidate will organize work, prepare work and equipment schedules, order materials/supplies and ensure safe work practices according to municipal standards.

Your education will include completion of Grade 12 supplemented by technical courses and training, plus considerable related experience, including supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. You will have considerable knowledge of the methods, materials and equipment used in construction and maintenance of water and sanitary systems and of occupational hazards and safety precautions applicable to the work. The ability to supervise and coordinate and delegate the work of a group of employees, communicate effectively, maintain records, prepare reports and estimate time is integral in this role.
