The City of Abbotsford currently has an exciting full-time opportunity for a SCADA & Automation Technologist in the Engineering and Regional Utilities Department.
This position involves complex technical and administrative work related to operation of the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition System (SCADA) for municipal sewer, water, roads, dyking, irrigation and drainage systems. You will work closely with the Operations staff. Responsibilities will include programming, calibrating process instruments, troubleshooting, design, coordinating systems changes and upgrades, training and monitoring staff assigned and producing alarm and data reports along with project coordination and supervision of contractors and staff from other divisions on a per project basis.

To be considered for this position, you must have:
• Diploma in Telecommunications and Electronics or related discipline;
• Three (3) years’ experience in programming and operating SCADA systems including experience in project coordination and supervision;
• Membership or eligible for membership with the Association of Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of B.C (ASTTBC);
• Valid B.C. Class 5 Drivers licence.
Holder of B.C. Certificate of Electrical Qualification with Interprovincial Red Seal is an asset
This position is unionized, CUPE Local 774, and the hourly rate of pay is from $37.03 to $43.54 per hour.
