The Township of Langley is currently recruiting for a regular full time Support Clerk to join our team of professionals in the Engineering Division, Business Support Department.

Reporting to the Manager, Engineering Business Support, you will be primarily responsible in this unionized position for providing superior customer service to both internal and external customers at our Operations Centre. You will respond to enquiries, requests and complaints by telephone, email, and in person and will assist by explaining and interpreting rules, regulations, and general policies. In this role, you will also be responsible for a variety of tasks in support of the Engineering Division, which may include payroll entry for our outside crews, invoicing and processing payments, permit application processing, and park bookings. If you are committed to excellence in customer service and have the ability to manage a variety of tasks with speed and accuracy we want to meet you.

Your education will include completion of grade 12, preferably including or supplemented by commercial and accounting courses. Two years of office experience, preferably in a municipal setting, or an equivalent combination of training and experience is required. Sound knowledge of business English, spelling, accounting practices, billing, records keeping, and arithmetic are preferred. The ability to deal effectively with the public and other employees in processing a variety of enquiries, complaints and related matters is required.

The CUPE rate of pay for this position is $25.31 - $29.74 per hour (5 steps, 2019 rates); $25.82 - $30.33 per hour (5 steps; 2020 rates), plus benefits. The hours of work are Monday to Friday 7 hours per day, between 8:00am – 4:30pm.
