The Township of Langley is currently recruiting for a regular full-time Engineering Technologist II to join our team of professionals in the Engineering Division; Water Resources and Environment Department. Reporting to the Manager, Water Resources and Environment, in this unionized position you will be responsible for coordinating assigned major construction projects, developing work schedules, and monitoring work progress and project costs.

Responsibilities:
??? Perform design, analysis, inspection, and review functions for municipal water, sanitary, and drainage systems and related facilities
??? Draft letters, memos, reports, and contract documents including request for proposals and tenders
??? Calculate water and sewer use projections, pipe flow calculations, cost estimates, water and sewer computer modelling, condition assessments and field work inspection during construction
??? Liaise with a variety of internal and external contacts including other departments, the public, consultants, contractors, engineers and other agencies on engineering requirements, policies and related matters
??? Perform contract administration and other related functions

Qualifications:
??? Graduation from an Institute of Technology with a diploma in civil technology or other related discipline, including or supplemented by courses in project management, plus considerable related experience preferably in a municipal setting, or an equivalent combination of training and experience
??? Comprehensive knowledge of engineering principles, terminology, practices and techniques and experience with a variety of engineering software packages, databases, and utilities applications
??? Energetic, enthusiastic, organized, and able to communicate effectively with the community, consultants and contractors
??? Experience in sewer and water computer modelling, civil design, drafting experience and at least two years??? experience in an engineering environment will be considered assets

The CUPE rate of pay for this position is $38.73 - $45.73 per hour (5 steps, 2020 rates) plus benefits. The hours of work are Monday to Friday 8:30am ??? 4:30pm.
