||We are the third largest regional district in BC delivering over 100 services to six municipalities and eight electoral areas. Our region covers more than 13,000 km2 stretching from the City of Abbotsford to Boston Bar. If you enjoy working outdoors, then you should check us out.
We manage fourteen water systems and three sewer systems, with more coming online every day. Our water and sewer systems use a wide range of different technologies from the more established to the newest and most innovative.
We are looking for an energetic student to fill the time-duration position of Student I (Utilities Aide-Service Areas). The term of this position will be from May 4, 2020 to August 28, 2020, and the hours of work are 8 hours per day Monday to Friday between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
||The Student I (Utilities Aide – Service Areas) will assist the Utility Technicians with the operation and maintenance of various utilities such as water, sewer, solid waste and dyking in rural areas within the FVRD Electoral Area Service Areas. Duties include, but are not limited to grounds and building maintenance, and system maintenance.

||Candidates must be: (i) currently attending or enrolled in the next semester of a secondary or post-secondary educational program, full or part-time; or (ii) have attended full or part-time, in the last academic year. There will be on-the-job training for specific knowledge and skill requirements.
||The ideal candidate must be physically fit and able to work outdoors in all types of weather; ability to work well both independently and within a team environment; have excellent communication and customer service skills; ability to safely work around heavy equipment and handle tools as required; general carpentry, construction and painting experience is desirable; and must possess a valid Driver’s License.
||The wage rate for this position will be $17.47 per hour ($15.80 plus 10.6% in lieu of benefits).
