||The District of Mission is looking for a progressive and innovative individual to provide leadership and oversee programs and operations in the Engineering & Public Works Department.
As an integral part of the Engineering & Public Works management team, the Manager of Engineering Planning & Assets is responsible for the master planning and modeling of civil infrastructure and for improving the business aspects of the department by conducting in-depth budget reviews and analyses with a focus on potential cost reductions and process improvement opportunities.
This position also oversees staff maintaining the asset management program as well as the maintenance of municipal buildings.
||We are looking for an individual who has a strong understanding of the technical nature of the work, a keen critical thinking ability, analytical and problem-solving skills and is focused on high quality outputs and results. You understand local government objectives and issues, you are proactive and forward thinking and you have excellent interpersonal skills.
||As the ideal candidate, you will have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline, supplemented by recognized training or education in finance and project management. A minimum of five years of solid, progressive municipal civil engineering experience supplemented with project management experience is required. You will also be registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or Limited Licensee (Eng.L.) with Engineers & Geoscientists BC (EGBC) or be registered as a Professional Technologist (PTech) with Applied Science Technologists & Technicians of BC (ASTTBC).
||This position is excluded from the bargaining units and offers a wage rate commensurate with your qualifications and experience.
