The City of Abbotsford???s Engineering & Regional Utilities Department is seeking a self-motivated professional to join their dynamic team as an Engineering Clerk. This position is full time on a temporary basis, approximately 8-12 months to provide administrative project support.

In this busy role you will utilize your considerable knowledge of office practices and procedures to provide clerical support for the department. Tasks include processing and tracking permit applications, documents, forms and agreements; preparing written correspondence and reports; as well as creating and maintaining a variety of records, forms, tables, spreadsheets and manuals. You will have an ability to control and monitor cash flow procedures as you prepare invoices, receipts and refunds, collect monies, balance cash and prepare deposit slips.

Your excellent customer service and communication skills, along with knowledge of the applicable rules, regulations, policies and practices which govern departmental activities will guide you when responding to public and staff inquiries. Your ability to work independently, multi-task and take initiative will guide your success in this position.

To be considered for this position, you must have:

??? Grade 12 plus post-secondary courses in bookkeeping and computer software courses (word processing and spreadsheet applications).

??? A minimum of two (2) years clerical and customer service experience including processing complaints and explaining procedures and guidelines in regard to the processing of applications, documents and bylaws.

This position is unionized, CUPE Local 774, and the hourly rate of pay is from $24.57 to $28.90 plus a percentage in lieu of vacation, statutory holiday and health benefits.
