The City of Abbotsford has an exciting opportunity for a Deputy City Clerk to join our Legislative Services team. Working with the Director, Legislative Services/City Clerk, the Deputy City Clerk provides leadership to the overall direction of the Legislative Services division.

This key role will be part of our Legislative Services leadership team that provides services to Council and staff in the areas of Council/Committee meeting support, corporate administration, local elections, information and privacy, corporate records and staff training programs.

The Deputy City Clerk role requires a highly efficient self-starter, with great attention to detail, who values a team environment and can manage a busy and interesting workload, while providing excellent customer service. Knowledge of local government functions and legislation is essential to this role.

As the ideal candidate you have:

• University degree in Public Administration (or) an equivalent combination of education and experience
• 5 years of progressively related experience in local government
• Superior knowledge of meeting procedure and best practices related to information management, privacy, records management and local government elections
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
