The Township of Langley is currently recruiting for a temporary full-time Engineering Technologist II (from approx. October 25, 2021 to October 20, 2023) to join our team of professionals in the Engineering Division, Facilities Department. Reporting to the Manager, Facilities, in this unionized position you will be responsible for coordinating assigned preventative maintenance, repairs and construction projects for a variety of municipal facilities/buildings throughout the community.

Responsibilities:
??? Plan, design, estimate and execute components of projects on various municipal facilities
??? Coordinate and monitor assigned preventative maintenance, repairs and construction projects
??? Liaise with contractors, external and internal contacts on projects related to municipal facilities
??? Prepare estimates, tender and project documents/specifications, and make recommendations in awarding contracts
??? Conduct field inspections and ensure that all work is performed in accordance with contractual terms and established regulations
??? Maintain infrastructure management systems and databases and create queries/reports for use in determining work program priorities and capital budget plans
??? Perform related work as required

Qualifications:
??? Graduation from an Institute of Technology with a diploma in civil and structural technology, building technology, or other related discipline, including or supplemented by courses in project management, plus considerable related experience preferably in a municipal setting, or an equivalent combination of training and experience
??? Considerable knowledge of the engineering principles, terminology, materials, tools, equipment, practices and techniques used in design, construction, installation, maintenance and renewal/rehabili-tation of various municipal infrastructure
??? Considerable knowledge of bylaws, policies and practices as it relates to municipal facilities and relevant programs
??? Ability to act as liaison and coordinator on construction projects, maintenance/repairs, contract documentation and administration for various types of construction, installation and Township programs
??? Ability to prepare and maintain reports, records and various other materials related to the work
??? Security Clearance for work at RCMP Buildings is required. (Note - Not required as part of the application process, however will be required upon consideration for employment)

The CUPE rate of pay for this position is $38.73 - $45.73 per hour (5 steps, 2020 rates) plus 13% in lieu of benefits. The hours of work are Monday to Friday 8:00am ??? 4:30pm.
