| Job Description: |
The City of Abbotsford???s Utility Operations division is seeking an experienced, self-motivated individual to join our Water Distribution team as a full time Water Operator.
The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of the principles of waterworks infrastructure repair, maintenance, construction and water quality analysis and results interpretation as well as demonstrated ability to exercise considerable independence of judgement in quickly and accurately performing a variety of skilled and semi-skilled manual tasks in repairing, maintaining and constructing waterworks infrastructure. |

| Duties: |
In this busy role, you will work as part of a team responsible for technical and skilled work pertaining to the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of the water distribution infrastructure; this includes pump stations, PRV stations, reservoirs, valves, hydrants, water mains, meters and services. You may work alone or work with, coordinate and supervise the work of staff engaged in waterworks duties. Directs and oversees contractors work as required |

| Educational Requirements: |
In order to be considered for this position you must have:
??? Grade 12 diploma or equivalent;
??? Completion of post-secondary courses in waterworks
??? Environmental Operators Certification Program, Water Distribution III;
??? A minimum of four years??? operating experience plus two years supervisory experience in a
Class 2 or higher municipal waterworks.
??? Workers Compensation Board Occupational First Aid Level 1 Certificate

| Salary: |
This position is unionized, CUPE Local 774, and the hourly rate of pay is from $31.35 to $36.86 per hour in additional to our comprehensive, competitive benefits package. |
